Somewhere in heaven
A small orange angel kitty
Folds her wings and paws
To rest in the sunshine
Of a soft summer afternoon
To doze away timeless time
Till her friends and Daddy
Come to join her and once again
We can play together
Dear little Marmie Kitty
My pretty little girl
Gone before your time
Some day, when my time is up
I will again call your name
And see your little kitty self
Running through the grass
Tail held high
As glad to see me as I to see you
Pretty little Marmie Girl
Your Daddy misses you so
Sleep well beloved
Till the day we meet again
In memorandum, Marmalade Kitty, 1987? to July 20, 1996. She was a beige tiger who loved the outdoors and would follow me around. She would beg to be picked up to lick my face then butt her head under my chin and purr as long as she was held. We called her Marmalade after we saw a book about orange cats that called them Marmalade Cats. Before that she was "the orange kitty".
