curiously
see susan
put kitty in the car

meow in anticipation
knowing this probably means
fish
or maybe chicken
see kitty
wait patiently
when susan opens the window
and yell into the big box
not sure what the words mean
but sniffing
and smelling
FISH!
see kitty
paws on the door
peer up at the nice lady
who leans over to coo at him
wishing she'd quit
and just fork over the fish
see susan
push kitty to the side
(so she can reach her purse)
and finally reach for THE BAG
see kitty
impatient
pawing at the bag
trying to get at the goodies inside
see susan
push kitty
away
yet again
--a few minutes later--
see susan
let kitty out of the car
see kitty
run up to the door
and wait for it to be opened
ready for dinner
see susan
put the bag on the coffee table
hear the phone ring
see kitty
aghast
when susan goes to the kitchen
and doesn't come back!
what about THE BAG!?!
see susan
on the phone
pause a second
hearing a sack rustle
hear susan
say that horrid "no" word
rather loudly
and then talk into the phone again
when the rustling stops
hear more rustling
and other strange noises
see susan
peek out from the kitchen
wondering what's wrong
because it's suddenly too quiet
see three hungry cats
look up
with kitty
the ring-leader
sitting on the bag
by the box
he had retrieved
and opened
see kitty
growl at susan
when she gets too close
well,
you wanted to talk on the phone
so i got us dinner without you
bad, bad kitty
