As soon as the tremendous burst of applause dies down, I'll tell you about our new kitties. Yesterday Patty got into a conversation with an elderly lady in the checkout line at the store and discovered she had 35 (!) kittens of various ages she was looking to home. Patty followed her home and picked out two of the finest: a male yellow tabby we've named "Cowboy," and a solid silver gray female we've named "Spirit."They appear to be about 2 - 3 months old.
Patty was very careful not to get any tuxedoes that look like Traveller. Just thinking about him makes me cry, and he's been gone to the RB three years last month. I couldn't bear to have one here 24/7. How long does it take? I know I'll never forget him, but I wish. . .
So far all the kittens have done while I'm around is hide from Mac's attempts to play with them, but I'll soon have some pics. I got tired of buying batteries for the digital camera and went back to film. Patty said this morning she came down early and got both of them purring in her lap, along with Mac. Toby doesn't seem to be aware they're here, and Sam is having hiss fits. She'll get over it. Mac keeps running over to where the kittens are napping under a chair and then running back to tell me all about it.
Update on Bustifer: last week John saw him about a block away being played with by several small children out in their front yard. He stopped and watched them for a few moments, then drove away. It wouldn't be safe for an adult male to approach children around here. It looks as if he (Bustifer, not John) has found a new home.
