Pulling Chains

by Pam Shirk, North Carolina, USA

Since we rent, we use push pins to put pictures up, hold the edges of posters and replace nails rather than pay for holes in the walls when we move out. So we have a lot of push pins in our walls.

A couple of days ago, I came home from work to find that the push pins that hold up the edges of a poster I have on my bedroom wall were gone and the poster was laying on Robs dresser. Puzzled, I had Mike put the poster back. I later told Rob about it and he was as puzzled about it as I was.

Today, I was posting on the newsgroup when I happened to look over at Rob's computer to see PC standing on the monitor pushing up on a velveteen picture of a wizard while trying to pull a push pin out of the wall from where it was holding up a picture I'd printed and stuck to the wall. I yelled at him and he gave me a dirty look and hopped down from the computer. I put the wizard painting back and left for an appointment.

I looked at the wall just now as I was typing this and the push pin that PC was worrying is laying on the floor behind Rob's computer, where PC spit it out after pulling it out of the wall. Mike has replaced it with a dragon fly push pin. I hope the little sh*t can't pull that one out for a while. No wonder he was so smug when I got home tonight.
